Archive migration ensures that your electronic documents are transferred quickly and securely from one or more source archives to the archives of the future target system. It often occurs as part of a carve-in or carve-out or system merging within a company. Upstream or parallel, the transfer of the corresponding SAP data to the archived documents must be taken into account. Displaying these documents is one of the essential basic functions in many cases. In the case of SAP database migrations, it should be taken into consideration, in good time, that archived documents are attached to the SAP data that is to be transferred and therefore have to be available, for example as audits, in the future target environment as well.
Whether invoices, master data documents, technical documentation of machines or quality certificates – the migration of your documents is selective: only the archived documents that belong to the transferred SAP data in the target system and are needed in the future are migrated. As soon as it has been clarified which SAP data needs to be migrated to the target system, we take over the complete technical work from you to determine which the relevant archive documents are.

With archive migration, the archive provider and the archive infrastructure in the target system are not always the same as in the source system, as there are a lot of different archive providers. A direct archive migration at the archive infrastructure level is not technically possible with different archiving methods in the source and target system. Since our archive migration runs via the standard interfaces in SAP, we can transfer the most diverse archiving techniques into each other. Auditing reliability and efficiency are therefore ensured by our process.
We offer archive migrations in joint projects together with our partners as well as independently as full service providers. We can migrate each customer’s archived documents for every common SAP data migration method. Common methods are the table-based data migration method and the LSMW approach. As part of the latter, we also like to create the administrative data for the archived documents in the SAP system.
