SAP NetWeaver Information Lifecycle Management (SAP NetWeaver ILM) focuses on the lifecycle of productive and archived data in the electronic environment (SAP) and helps to manage, store and delete it in a targeted manner (retention management). Defined rules determine how the different databases have to be handled. In special cases such as recall actions, the retention period of the associated data is extended. The more lucid the catalog of rules for the data has been developed, the more automated the ILM processes – even in exceptional cases – can run.
